Skua Ribs have been in existence for two and a half years and have already won widespread praise for their craft.
Looking to expand their range the dedicated team at Skua made the acquisition of Ribquest in late July. David Brown Managing Dircetor of Skua said:
“The acquisition of Ribquest has allowed us to rapidly increase our market share, the strong brand and rigorous quality standards which Ribquest use to build their Ribs will go hand in hand with the production processes we already use at Skua. We have employed the old team from Ribquest and are looking to increase their numbers shortly ”
Currently Skua have two RIB’s in their range, both are ideally suited to super yachts requiring a tender from ship to shore and also as high-speed performance sports RIB’s.
The Ribquest brand has built a solid reputation for quality, style and good sea keeping.
Servicing Commercial, Military, Emergency Services and the Leisure Market, both brands are proud to be 100% British built from start to finish.
When I asked David Brown if they had plans to make any changes his reply was:
“Well, we are already looking to update the Ribquest range, a new console is to be added and we are looking at a mould sun deck for the larger models plus we are just in the process of building our first 9m cabin rib too .”
In these difficult times we are happy to see such a forward thinking company grow from strength to strength. Skua is a wholly owned subsidiary of Nitec (UK) Ltd, a £3.5 million marine engineering company.
For anyone wanting to meet the team... either give them a call or come down to the Southampton Boatshow 16th-25th September 2011
