Since 1991, Boomeranger Boats has specialized in constructing RIBs, MOBs and work boats for The Frontier Guard, Navy, Police, Customs, harbour authorities, rescue organizations and of course the merchant navy.

The standard product line, designed by Hannu Rainesto, consists of 4.7m to 15m RIBs and the larger models from 10m to 15m are constructed with wheelhouses.

One 13m RIB C-4000 with wheelhouse was delivered to the Finnish Lifeboat Society in freezing Arctic conditions in December 1995. The RIB C-4000 is powered by two 400hp engines coupled to waterjets. Boomeranger confirm that speeds in excess of 40 knots were achieved during trials. This RIB, like all other craft built by Boomeranger, was built to suit the customer’s special requirements.

Boomeranger state ‘ Tests show that the RIB C-4000 is a serious challenge to any other RIB of its size…the boat is smooth and very accurate to drive. It has been tested by a great number of naval authorities and professionals and their statements have encouraged us to name our boat the winner in freezing conditions’

This boat can also be built up to 16 metres and to operate at speeds in excess of 50 knots.

In May 1996, Boomeranger delivered another wheelhouse RIB, the C-3500, to the Finnish Frontier Guard. This RIB is 10.2m in length and powered by two 250hp outboard engines, apparently providing a speed in excess of 47 knots. This boat will operate in the Baltic Sea and in the Gulf of Finland.

In the past few years Boomeranger have also supplied a number of smaller RIBs including a 7.7m C-2002 which they state is ‘exceptionally fast’ producing speeds in excess of 52 knots. This craft is carried on a large Coastguard vessel with a single point lift and operates all year round in patrol and rescue roles.

The company, which operates in modern premises in Loviisa on the southern Finnish coast (95km eat of Helsinki), has a DNV (Det Norske Veritas) classification and type certification and all their boats are manufactured according to DNV / NBS.STD standards.
