A particular highlight this season in Chatham footwear’s range is their development of what the company describes as a ‘fully sustainable option’. This comes in the form of Chatham’s new Java G2 marine- and outdoor-orientated product range.

Crafted from premium-quality upper leather sourced from the LWG gold-rated tannery Tehchang, Java G2 aims to reset the current standard of marine footwear. Designed using the Genesis Leather concept, this range aims to reduce the consumption of water, harmful chemicals and energy throughout the manufacturing process, and features Chatham’s renowned Sole Spring comfort technology, whereby natural latex foam replaces polyurethane foams. This style also benefits from rot-proof, natural waxed cotton thread, hand-waxed and hand-stitched, and a one-piece leather lace that has been sourced from the LWG gold-rated tannery ISA TanTec. Offering advanced durability and slip resistance, the Java sole is made from a natural latex rubber outsole.

Philip Marsh, Managing Director at Chatham, commented: ‘This is a collection that we are extremely proud of. We have expanded our product line extensively across both the men’s and women’s collections, and feel there is a product to suit everyone, whatever their adventures. Java G2 is an exciting first for Chatham and we have chosen the very best sustainable materials, which have been put through rigorous testing to ensure they can endure all the coast and countryside have to throw at them.’

Prices for the Java range start at £105.
