Salterns Marina and Salterns Brokerage, organisers and hosts of the award-winning Sandbanks Boat Show announce that the 2015 event will not be going ahead.   The decision has been made for a number of reasons.  As a forerunner of the regional ‘boutique’ style boat shows it is becoming increasingly difficult to keep things fresh and diverse, not to mention limited space within our marina, when many other marinas are now following the same format.  The most recent being Poole Quay Boat Haven announcing they will be hosting their own event over the same weekend as the Sandbanks Boat Show; 9^th -10^th May.

Nick Smith, Managing Director said “there is clearly no room for two shows to be held in such close proximity which would only dilute the standard of show that we aspire to.  It may come as a blow to many exhibitors and visitors alike that our highly successful show comes to a close.  We’d like to thank all who have taken part and supported us, gaining great sales and exposure over the four years we’ve been running this unique and popular event.”

“Poole Quay Boat Haven was originally designed as a visitors marina and Poole Quay is a fitting venue to host such a show. It’s important for us and the marine trade to have a show which not only caters for the hard-core marine customer but also introduce and attract new and fresh faces to boating, perhaps for the very first time.  As dealers for many well-known boating brands including Cranchi, Sealegs, Orkney, Sea-Doo plus inboard/outboard engines and accessories, Salterns will continue to promote these products at various shows and events throughout next year.”
