Boot Düsseldorf 2023 offers water sports and boating enthusiasts the world over an incredible 220,000 square metres worth of motor yachts, powerboats, RIBs and sports craft of every type imaginable, exhibited across 16 exhibition halls. There is no international show quite like it, as PBR reports.

The Düsseldorf Messeturm is buzzing with anticipation for boot 2023, which will once again cast its lines in Düsseldorf from 21st to 29th January. Around 1,500 exhibitors will be on board this year. Messe Düsseldorf CEO Wolfram Diener told PBR: ‘Our big thanks go to the international exhibitors who support us so excellently with their loyalty and enthusiasm for boot. Visitors to boot 2023 will witness a fireworks display of yachts, boats, sport, fun and action in an area of the size of 31(!) football pitches in 16 exhibition halls. And let me be quite clear: all Düsseldorf trade fairs in autumn, winter and spring 2022/2023 will take place. We are all set for energy shortages, and we offer the best possible security in our halls. Our exhibition halls are equipped with the latest high-performance particle filters, so-called HEPA filters, which eliminate 99.9% of viruses from the air, and the energy supply is also safe throughout. As usual, the temperature in the halls will be a constant 19 degrees, and a pleasant side effect of the HEPA filters is that heating the halls consumes less energy. In view of the economic and geopolitical challenges of our time, boot 2023 deserves the rating of being particularly valuable.

Boot Düsseldorf will also score points in 2023 thanks to its genuine international and diverse content. Boatyards, suppliers of diving equipment, manufacturers of boards and canoes, as well as numerous destinations around the world will transform the exhibition halls in January into the largest global indoor water sports event. Boot Director Petros Michelidakis told us: ‘The world is a guest at boot 2023. The list of exhibiting countries spans the globe from Australia to Cyprus. I am particularly pleased that numerous diving regions have once again found their way to us and will guide visitors away to exotic underwater worlds. For example, diving centres from Egypt, Curaçao, Israel, Cuba, Mauritius, Oman and Palau will present their dream destinations. With the new diving tower and innovative equipment, Hall 12 is once again the hub of the diving scene.’  But let us now take you on a sneaky preview of what you can expect to see at this year’s great event …

Powerboats of all classes and the ‘global brands’ of luxury yachts on board in Halls 1, 3, 4 to 6 & 7a.

Wally Ferritti - Hall 6

Wally Ferritti – Hall 6

The tour of boot 2023 starts in Hall 1 with medium-sized motor yachts and steel yachts from traditional shipyards – including, among others, Bavaria, Beneteau, Greenline, Jeanneau, Linssen and Marex. The ‘motor walk’ of boot continues through Hall 3, where there are motorboats in classes up to 10 metres, including the Brunswick Group with Sea Ray, Quicksilver and Bayliner, and outboard motors of all sizes and classes, including Honda, Mercury, Suzuki, Tohatsu and Yamaha.

Scandinavian motorboats and many models with innovative, alternative drives are the hit in Hall 4 – with Arksen, Axopar/Brabus, Candela, Finboat, Nimbus, Saxdor and X-Shore all featuring. The Superboat Hall 5 impresses with both classic elegance and futuristic new developments in tenders and noble dinghies, the so-called ‘shadow boats’ – including, among others, Boesch, Boston Whaler, Cantiere del Pardo, Nautor/Swan, Frauscher, Rand Boats, Wally and Zar Formenti. And then it’s on to the luxurious highlight of boot: in Hall 6 the long-hulled beauties of the luxury shipyards will be competing – with Absolute, Azimut, Fairline, Ferretti, Princess, San Lorenzo and Sunseeker all exhibiting. Those who like it even bigger and more comfortable will get their money’s worth with the models of the superyacht manufacturers and the ideas for exquisite interior design in Hall 7a, including Art for Living, Deutsche Yachten, Ocean Independence, Superyacht France and Whisper Power.

Relaxing with maritime art in Hall 7

After so many luxury impressions, the eye looks forward to a picturesque relaxation in Hall 7 with its maritime art displays. Well-known artists will delight visitors with their large-format paintings with sea scenes, delicately drawn model ship sketches and even sculptures.

Innovative technology in Halls 9, 10 and 11 – ‘Blue Innovation Dock’ sustainability forum

The breathtaking technology in Halls 9, 10 and 11 at boot is set to arrest the attention of all who appreciate cutting-edge marine tech in all its forms. From boot 2023 onward, the growing segment of motorboats will also include Hall 9 with tender craft and RIBs up to 10m – including Alltechnik, Highfield, Seabob, Zar Formenti and Williams, as well as an Estonian joint participation. This will be followed by the engine manufacturers with their latest innovative drives, propulsion units, combustion engines, and electric and hybrid motors. In addition, marine outfitters, boat outfitters, accessory manufacturers and maritime clothing will be located in Hall 10. This is also where the new ‘Blue Innovation Dock’ (BID) can be found – a stage with a discussion forum for topics relating to sustainability in boat production, boating and the environmentally friendly orientation of boat harbours and large marinas. On all nine days of the fair, top European politicians, the manufacturing industry, marina operators and international associations will be in attendance. Visions and concrete implementations for water sports are the focus at BID. The programme is coordinated by the Association of the European Boating Industry (EBI).

Tips from professional boatbuilders for ‘do it yourself’ professionals

Professional boatbuilders, restorers and ‘do it yourself’ professionals will experience an active exchange among sailmakers, painters and outfitters in Hall 11. The focus will be on the exchange of experience and experts in the ‘Refit Centre’.

Hall 12 shines with new diving tower

NEW Dive Pool

Hall 12 will allow visitors to visually dive deep into the glittering waters of the new diving tower. With a diameter of 8 and a height of 4 metres, it is the meeting point of the international diving community. In the ‘Dive Centre’, prominent trendsetters of the scene will report on their exciting diving safaris on all nine days of the fair, and manufacturers will present innovative new technical trends or let diving travellers dream of their next holiday under water. Anna von Boetticher will be the expert guide of the varied programme. Around the ‘Dive Centre’ the big names from the manufacturers, dealers and tour operators will appear and present their current offers – Beluga Reisen, BtS Europa, Cressi, Garmin, Mares and Padi.

‘Destination Seaside’ in Hall 13

Unbound, versatile and ripe for holidays, Hall 13 presents holiday regions all over the world, the latest houseboat creations, charters and marinas, as well as a variety of activities in the most beautiful water sports regions in Europe and exotic destinations overseas. ‘Destination Seaside’ offers plenty of highlights for everyone who loves holidays by the water. The stage in the holiday world with its holiday feeling invites you to experience cultural diversity, country days, book presentations and travel bloggers live on site. Paddle sports, old treasures and ‘seaside camping’ in Hall 14

Hall 5 Pardo

Pardo – Hall 5

Hall 14 will welcome fans of canoeing in the ‘World of Paddling’. In the canoe canal, small- and big-boat fans can paddle their laps in front of an impressive mountain backdrop and relax at the same time. Tips for the next paddling tour are available on stage with paddling and SUP expert Lars Thierling. Friends of classic boats will find their fulfilment during a visit to the ‘Classic Forum’. Specialist Bernd Klabunde and his team will transport visitors to a seemingly long-sunken world of wooden boats, the first sleek motorboats or small sloops. A special highlight for classic-boat fans is the boat auction on the second boot weekend in the ‘Classic Forum’. Also in Hall 14, the popular ‘Love your Ocean’ stand with seven information islands will encourage visitors to think, and exchange ideas, about marine conservation. Experts from the German Marine Foundation e.V. will be on hand to answer questions at the stand and during the informative stage programme. On 24th January, the Foundation invites you to the international ‘Ocean Forum’ there.

Tips for professionals and beginners at the ‘Sailing Centre’ in Hall 15

In Hall 15, the whole world of sailing regattas, associations, the ‘Sailing Centre’ and ‘Start Sailing’ are on board. The scent of the big, wide world wafts over the stage of the ‘Sailing Centre’. Here, the stars of the international sailing scene are at the helm and report on breathtaking trips on the world’s oceans. And young sailors can also take a hand at the tiller themselves. Experienced sailing instructor Silke Krüger from Düsseldorf’s Unterbacher See will give practical tips on jibing and tacking, and there will be taster sailing for children at the boot ‘Sailing Pool’. The sailing highlight in Hall 15 is the spectacular multihull yachts – including, among others, Catana Bali, Excess and Lagoon. The crème de la crème of day sailers, dinghies and class associations will be on board here.

Large sailboat fleets in Hall 16

In Hall 16, international sailing yacht manufacturers will be flying the flag with their large fleets. In an impressive presentation, almost all the major suppliers will again be present in Düsseldorf in 2023 with sailing yachts from 22 to 70 feet – including Amel, Bavaria, Beneteau, Bente, Dufour, Elan, Grand Soleil, Nautor/Swan, Oyster, Solaris and Wally Nano.

Surfing, shopping and chilling in Hall 17 with the XXL pool

The highlight for surfing is Hall 17. The XXL pool, specially lowered for the still-young wingfoil sport, will feature surfing contests, information from the pros for newcomers and a chilling, exotic South Seas atmosphere as the hallmarks of boot’s ‘Beach World’. With its move to Hall 17, it is now right in the heart of the fair. Expert tips directly from the manufacturer or dealer are available at the stands of the international market leaders of the surf sports scene, who have docked in Hall 17 and will also be presenting numerous surf professionals.

An unforgettable water sports day awaits

Petros Michelidakis summed up as follows: ‘We are happy and also a bit proud to be able to present this great variety of products, trends and services to the water sports community again. We are especially looking forward to the ‘newcomers’ who have followed their passion in the last few years and given an extra push to the trends in the industry. Almost 200 new exhibitors will be at boot Düsseldorf 2023 for the first time.’
