Raymarine’s new operating system aims to give their MFD range the edge.

Raymarine’s latest operating system, LightHouse 4, has taken their MFD range to another level. LightHouse 4 is more intuitive, has more personalisation options and boasts several new features. Available to all Axiom, Axiom+, Axiom Pro and Axiom XL owners, it is completely free as a downloadable update.

Revised menu structures enable easier use, with personalised images now an option. Specific improvements include deeper integration with Mercury engines, SiriusXM Fish Mapping and Navionics charts. Being easier to use, it now provides a refined visual experience, with the simplified longer pull-up menus making tapping into the power of Axiom a faster process.

Apps that integrate control from external systems like Seakeeper can now be launched directly from the home screen, where the MOB alarm key now sits. Increased personalisation offers more options to how Axiom looks and functions. Skippers can add a favourite photo to the home screen or create ‘dashboard tiles’ to keep them informed of real-time instrument and navigation data.

Its integration with Mercury Marine VesselView has increased, as LightHouse now offers Active Exhaust Volume Control and a new, refined engine data summary page. Anglers in North America will also appreciate the integration with SiriusXM Fish Mapping, which offers regularly updated science-based fishing data chart overlays. SiriusXM Fish Mapping helps anglers quickly visualise and navigate to the most productive offshore fishing grounds. There is also a host of new additional key upgrades, including active route visual enhancements, as well as new levels of audio control. Of particular interest to Navionics chart users, LightHouse 4 supports the display of high-resolution bathymetric data and satellite imagery, which comes bundled with the latest Navionics Platinum Plus charts.
