A Nordic Classic with Extra Power

For the 2026 season, Buster Boats introduces the Buster Magnum VMAX, a performance-focused version of its iconic 7.2-metre open boat. Long established as the most popular large open boat in Nordic history, the Magnum now gains a new edge with Yamaha’s latest V MAX SHO outboard.

Powered by the Yamaha VF250XB, the VMAX Edition benefits from an engine designed for maximum power-to-weight efficiency. This delivers sharper acceleration and higher top speeds, especially valuable when carrying a full crew or heavy fishing gear.

Debut at Helsinki In-Water Show

The Buster Magnum VMAX was showcased at the Helsinki In-Water Boat Show Uiva Flytande in Lauttasaari. This marked the first public appearance of the boat with Yamaha’s new VF250XB engine, ahead of its official European launch later in August.

Design and Features

Standard equipment includes a spacious U-shaped aft seat, tilt steering wheel, trim tabs, deck lighting, and keyless ignition. The aluminium deck can be specified with a non-slip soft finish featuring VMAX logos. Rails, cleats, and the waterski arch are finished in black. Upholstery has been updated with a distinctive V MAX design, complemented by striking hull graphics.

At the helm, the second-generation 16-inch Buster Q smart display integrates Navionics charts, weather data, radio, and engine information. A split-screen mode allows simultaneous chart views at different scales, supporting both route planning and close navigation.

Handling and Versatility

With seating for eight and a load capacity of 884 kg, the Magnum VMAX offers the stability of a larger craft while retaining nimble handling. The tested hull ensures predictable, safe performance even in rough seas, making it equally suited for Baltic archipelago commuting or high-speed Atlantic cruising.

The Magnum series, introduced in 1990 and now in its fifth generation, continues to define its class. With the new VMAX Edition, Buster extends Yamaha’s high-performance engines beyond the XL and XXL ranges.
