Cornwall-based boat builder Falco has unveiled its electric “Oyster Punt” at The Pop-Up Hotel – Glastonbury, showcasing its commitment to sustainable boating and dedication to traditional form and innovative design. Handcrafted with traditional methods, using classic and contemporary materials, the boat can be powered by oars, or an electric motor and features hand crafted wooden decks. The 14-foot open skiff, made from GRP/hardwood iroko, offers comfortable seating for four people. Buyers will also receive a three-year subscription to the savvy navvy app, enabling digital navigation on various devices.
Mark Sorrill, Managing Director of Falco, expressed delight in showcasing the Oyster Punt at Glastonbury, highlighting the boat’s beautiful design and the company’s future ambitions to develop larger hybrid-powered boats with a blend of classic style and modern innovation. Falco also partnered with RAD propulsion, showcasing its compact and user-friendly electric propulsion system, RAD 40, for ribs and powerboats.
