Saxdor Yachts, Europe’s fastest-growing boatbuilder, shared a series of major announcements during its press conference at the Cannes Yachting Festival 2024. With impressive milestones in production and the introduction of a new innovative digital tool to enhance its customers’ boating experience, Saxdor continues to set new benchmarks in the yachting sector.

While entry-level models like the 200, 205, and 270 were the foundation, Saxdor is now stepping beyond the “starter boat” category with its larger fleet and has become the go-to brand for boaters who are ready to upgrade their on-water experience. These boats embody a fresh, modern style that breaks away from the traditional, offering a trendy, standout design and exceptional performance.

Since its founding in 2019, Saxdor has produced over 2,000 boats, with an annual production rate of 600-800 units. This impressive output is supported by a global dealership network that now totals 150 points of sale, ensuring that the brand’s innovative designs are accessible to customers around the world.

To meet the surging global demand for its products, Saxdor has taken significant strategic steps and increased both its workforce and production capacity. The company now employs 600 people and counts 14,000 sqm of production areas in three different locations. This expansion demonstrates the company’s commitment to maintaining the high standards of craftsmanship and service that customers have come to expect. Revenue growth has followed suit, driven by both production capacity increases and global market penetration.

Despite market uncertainty in this segment, Saxdor models continue to be requested all over the world and to meet this increasing demand, Saxdor has strategically expanded its production capabilities. In 2024 the company has expanded its production by establishing its second company-owned shipyard in Larsmo, Finland to accommodate the manufacturing of larger models. In addition, smaller boats, such as the popular Saxdor 200 series, are now produced in collaboration with motorboat builder TechnoLab. This partnership is designed to boost output while maintaining quality, with production managed by Saxdor and TechnoLab providing people and facility.

After a strategic business overview by Erna Rusi, CEO of Saxdor Yachts, a key highlight of the press conference was the introduction of the new MySaxdor app, which marks the shipyard’s entry into the digital era of boating. As presented by Simon Claxton, EMEA Sales Director at Navico Group, the app was developed in response to customer demand for smart connectivity and enhanced interaction with their boats, offering a suite of features designed to improve the ownership experience and provide a new communication channel between customer, dealers and Saxdor.

The new MySaxdor app, a companion application available to all Saxdor customers, enhances the boating experience by offering an interactive logbook, a trip tracker as well as the BoatIQ feature, which provides quick access to essential manuals and maintenance guides. For boats equipped with the Saxdor Connect hub, the app also delivers notifications on the boat’s status, allowing users to monitor key data such as battery charge, tank levels, and location. In addition, it enables remote control of lighting and appliance systems, ensuring owners remain connected to their boat at all times.

The app will be available for iOS in the US and selected European countries starting in October 2024, with an Android version in additional regions where Saxdor operates to follow shortly after. It will become available on all new Saxdor models from Q4 2024 onwards (optional on the 270 and smaller models, standard on larger models) with the Saxdor Connect hub being introduced in production at the end of 2024 starting with the Saxdor 400 series. For existing Saxdor boats, a light version of the app will be available through the Mercury Vessel-View Mobile interface. The integration with the new app was introduced by Daniel Scharf, Chief Product Officer at Saxdor Yachts, who demonstrated its functions on the newest model launched by the shipyard, the Saxdor 340 GTWA, which made its world debut at the Cannes Yachting Festival.

With a strong foundation in place, Saxdor Yachts is poised for continued growth and innovation. The expansion of production facilities, partnerships, and the introduction of the MySaxdor app signal a new phase of evolution for the brand. Saxdor remains committed to providing a superior boating experience by integrating cutting-edge technology, increasing its workforce and expanding its production and sales reach to meet the demands of a growing global customer base.
