Imray Laurie Norie & Wilson Ltd (Imray) and Austrian cartographic firm freytag & berndt (FB) have announced plans to form a joint venture to continue producing Imray charts. The new company, FB Imray Laurie Norie & Wilson GmbH (FB Imray), will be headquartered in Vienna and is scheduled to launch in summer 2025. Bookharbour (Stanfords) Ltd will remain the principal UK distributor for Imray’s products.
This partnership brings together Imray’s maritime expertise with FB’s experience in cartography, enabling the continued production and enhancement of Imray’s printed and digital navigation resources. While the Imray brand will be retained, the joint venture aims to develop new publications and digital products for the sailing community.
Imray Managing Director Lucy Wilson said the collaboration ensures continuity and opens the door to future growth. Carl Rauch, Managing Director at FB, highlighted the move as a step toward broadening the company’s scope into marine navigation.
The companies confirmed there will be no disruption to existing services. Imray charts and books will remain available, with a focus on consistency and quality.
Further details on product innovations and operational developments will be announced in the coming months.
