With 1,500 exhibitors across 17 halls and more than 200,000 visitors annually, boot Düsseldorf is Europe’s largest indoor boat show and is the undisputed choice for many of the world’s most important new boat and equipment launches.

One of the most eagerly anticipated World Premiere debuts at boot in 2026 is that of the Axopar 38 XC Cross Cabin, which, for years to come, will be constructed alongside the now iconic Axopar 37, which continues to attract a strong customer following as a result of its all-round capability and value for money.

Get up close

From 100 metres away, the many new developments and improvements on the Axopar 38 might be hard to detect, but get up close and it is clear to see Axopar have listened to customer and dealer feedback and invested heavily into making the 38 the most innovative and most modular boat they have produced until now.

From the glass surfaces to the GRP structure and the metal parts, every part of the Axopar 38 is new. Some changes are bigger than others, of course, and liveability is perhaps the best word to describe a subliminal feeling of knowing you are on a bigger, better and more comfortable boat, but not being able to put your finger on exactly the reason or reasons why.

With thousands of Axopar 37s sold to satisfied customers around the world, the Axopar 38 is an inevitable evolution of its legendary predecessor and, at the end of the day, why fix something that was not broken in the first place?

First Look at the New Axopar 38

After the glitz and glamour of the big reveal, two examples of the Axopar 38 will be displayed in Hall 4 for all to see.

Both are examples of the XC Cross Cabin fully enclosed version, which traditionally has always sold well in northern Europe and will be followed later in the year with the unveiling of the ST Sun Top and XT Cross Top open versions that are more generally favoured by customers wishing to use their boats in warmer weather regions.

As 2026 unfolds, a phased introduction of options shows a conscious shift towards making this a more comfortable boat, with added creature comforts and conveniences that Axopar customers have not been used to before. An optional Quick gyroscope and sound insulation upgrade are two examples of this.

Let us take a closer look at specific areas of the new boat.

Front Cabin Comfort and Practicality

Axopar’s signature gull-wing doors option, first seen on the Axopar 37 in 2020, remains, but increased headroom with full standing height and increased use of skylights above head height make this a light and airy space and somewhere that you would definitely be happy to spend quality time in.

Now offered with an optional kitchen module, the unit itself has space for a microwave, fridge, coffee machine and food storage, therefore extending the concept of staying overnight for longer periods.

The combined sofa and bed solution offers a choice of uses and the enclosed, full-standing-height toilet and shower option, with full-width mirror and wash-hand basin, is neatly finished off with the same dark-wood cabinetry used in the rest of the front cabin.

Wheelhouse Layout and Social Space

The increased sense of space continues in the wheelhouse with its reimagined layout, optimised for moving around more easily inside.

A U-sofa with table combined with rotating helm seats, or the Mediterranean bench seat option with its reversible backrest, means that six or more people can be seated easily in comfort, and the electric hi-low table can be lowered, with the addition of infill cushions, to create an extra sleeping space inside.

More visible use of wood trim and convenient handholds near the doors, an optional bar cabinet on the port side and a fully openable aft window, manual or electric, are evidence of the shift towards more creature comforts inside.

Optional Aft Cabin

Accommodation arrangements can be extended further with the multi-purpose aft cabin option, with more simplified access to the aft cabin from inside the wheelhouse, similar to that first seen on the Axopar 29.

Bow Seating Options

On the bow, the standard layout is a forward-facing sofa, with the option of an all-new U-sofa layout with hi-low table that can be converted to a sun bed. There is also a forward-facing sun lounge option with storage underneath.

Aft Deck Innovations

Innovations on the aft deck include optional folding activity platforms for both sides. Manually operated for reliability and to save the weight and cost of an actuator, the platforms make access to and from the water easier, adding extra seating and socialising spaces with toes-in-the-water fun.

Modular fender boxes can be specified as bench seats or as a fender box wet bar, and there is an additional leaning post option with an integrated, forward-facing folding bench included as part of the package.

Other highlights include an 830 litre increased-capacity fuel tank, improved air-conditioning and lithium power bank options, and optional Burnewiin gunwale mounts and accessories for bow or aft-deck areas.
