Genoa Boat Show 2025 Closes on a High Note

The 65th Genoa Boat Show ended its six-day run from 18 to 23 September on a positive trend, confirming its standing as one of the world’s leading marine events.

Organised by the Italian Marine Industry Association, the Show drew 124,248 visitors, a 2.8% increase on last year. More than 1,000 boats were displayed, with 23 new yards and exhibitors from 45 countries, underscoring Genoa’s international influence.

Strong Innovation and Industry Engagement

Innovation took centre stage, with 123 new products, including 96 premieres, unveiled across the exhibition’s five themed areas. Sea trials also proved popular, totalling 4,050 outings, while 132 conferences and events ran under the European Commission-sponsored Forum25 programme.

The event attracted 1,245 journalists and generated nearly 4.8 million online interactions, confirming its global media appeal.

Calls for Infrastructure and National Support

Italian Marine Industry Association President Piero Formenti highlighted the importance of long-term national backing and improved infrastructure to sustain the Show’s international growth. “This showcase has reached its full potential,” he said. “Now we need the country’s support and facilities that reflect its strategic value.”

Local Collaboration and Future Goals

The Genoa Chamber of Commerce and Liguria Regional Council reaffirmed their commitment to supporting hospitality and infrastructure growth. Genoa’s Mayor Silvia Salis and Regional President Marco Bucci both stressed that continued investment in transport links, accommodation and event expansion will be vital for Genoa to reach its full global potential.
