MDL Marinas confirms £6.35m marina investment for 2025/26

MDL Marinas has confirmed £6.35 million of investment during the 2025/26 berthing season. Between April and October, it invested £4.38 million, with £1.97 million committed for completion by 2025 year-end. The works form part of the company’s £40 million, five-year investment plan.

Key areas of investment

Berth holder facilities: £341,906, including refurbishment works and upgrades at Hamble Point Marina.

Dredging: £174,482 spent and £822,620 committed, supporting navigation and access.

Operational equipment: £187,309 spent and £57,401 committed, including a new fuel tank facility at Sparkes Marina, telehandler replacements at Hamble Point, and pump-out and fuel infrastructure upgrades at Penton Hook Marina on the Thames.

Infrastructure upgrades: £805,878 spent and £186,994 committed, including the redesign of the marina office at Hamble Point, expansion of the marina office at Northney on Hayling Island, and roof repairs at Queen Anne’s Battery in Plymouth.

Pontoon and quay wall enhancements: £2,063,353 spent and £398,965 committed, including pontoon replacement and re-decking, quay wall reconstruction at Sparkes Marina, and repair works scheduled to the quay wall at Cobb’s Quay in Poole. Further works are planned at Penton Hook, Hamble Point, Mercury, Northney and Queen Anne’s Battery.

Sustainability initiatives: £52,303 spent and £86,653 committed, including a 1,018 KWP solar installation at Queen Anne’s Battery and solar investment committed at Saxon Wharf.

Technology upgrades: £163,753 spent and £47,507 committed, including customer connectivity and enhanced WiFi infrastructure.

Our priority is to keep investing in the areas that matter most to our berth holders and tenants. This year’s programme reflects that focus, with improvements across pontoons, infrastructure, sustainability and customer facilities. These aren’t headline projects for the sake of it – they are practical upgrades that enhance day-to-day experience across the whole network.
