Mercury Marine Introduces New Integrated Boating Technologies

Mercury Marine, a division of Brunswick Corporation (NYSE: BC), has unveiled a new generation of digital and control technologies aimed at making boating more intuitive, connected and accessible. The launch introduces the Mercury Keyless System, Boost software upgrade, Premier Joystick and DTS Performance Pedal as part of a coordinated innovation showcase.

The systems combine hardware, software and digital connectivity within a single integrated ecosystem. This supports Mercury’s prop-to-helm strategy and is designed to simplify operation while enhancing performance and confidence on the water.

By launching these innovations together, Mercury delivers a clear message: the future of boating is smarter, more connected, and more intuitive. Each solution addresses a core consumer need — control, performance, ease of use, and personalisation — while working together to create a more cohesive and premium on-water experience.

The technology suite made its debut at the Miami International Boat Show, with further product announcements expected throughout the year.

Boost Software Improves Acceleration

Boost is a software-based engine calibration that delivers a 5–21% increase in mid-range acceleration and improved zero-to-top-speed performance. The upgrade requires no physical engine modifications and is installed by authorised Mercury dealers.

Owners of existing Mercury outboards can enhance performance through manufacturer-approved software, while selected new outboards will feature Boost later in the year.

Keyless Access and Smart Helm Control

The Mercury Keyless System allows users to unlock, power up and secure their boat using a mobile device. The system integrates with SmartCraft Connect and supports both single and multi-engine configurations.

Compatible with engines of 80hp and above on DTS-equipped boats, the system supports up to six engines and brings automotive-style convenience to boat operation.

Enhanced Joystick and Performance Control

The redesigned Premier Joystick introduces features including Dockhook to assist the boat in maintaining position alongside a dock, Skyhook reposition and remote helm Skyhook control, plus extended joystick piloting capability for vessels with dual bow thrusters.

Completing the launch is the DTS Performance Pedal, a foot throttle designed for high-speed single-engine applications. Built from anodised billet aluminium with EVA decking and an integrated toe hook, it enables operators to maintain both hands on the wheel at speeds of 120 km/h and above.
