New Whale-Watching Boat Delivered

Inventech Marine Solutions and Life Proof Boats have announced the delivery of a 40ft sub-T coastguard-inspected twin inboard diesel water jet whale-watching boat to US company Western Prince Cruises. The vessel has been approved for commercial coastwise service to carry 26 passengers and two crew, and is propelled by a pair of Hamilton HJ292 water jets powered by twin Cummins QSB 6.7 480hp diesel engines with ZF 280 transmissions.

Western Prince Cruises operate a whale-watching tour out of Friday Harbor, Washington, and approached Life Proof Boats for the newest addition to their fleet because they felt they were the best fit for their business model. During builders’ trials the vessel’s top speed was recorded at 43.6 knots with ¾ fuel and water, and five people on board. The captain is supported by Simrad GPS/depth/radar, Standard Horizon VHF and FUSION stereo with a hydrophone connection to give clients the experience of listening to the underwater sounds of whales singing.
