This superyacht tender, developed over 14 months, was a collaboration between Rayglass Boats, distributor Ancasta Group, Ancasta Yacht Services (AYS), and the owner’s representative.
Designed for independent operation without a crew, the tender serves as both a chase boat and a versatile platform for water-based activities. The owner, an experienced captain, chose the Targa 380 for its adaptability and seakeeping performance.
Key modifications include reversible aft seating with integrated refrigeration, replacing the standard wet bar to enhance comfort for superyacht tender duties. The helm and navigator seats have been upgraded to Allsalt Shoxs Helmcaster X4 shock-mitigation seats for improved ride quality.

For scuba diving, removable stainless-steel dive cylinder racks have been fitted near the twin Mercury 450 HP outboards. A solar power system supports onboard electronics, while custom sun shades and carbon pole-mounted splash guards provide climate protection.
Aesthetic upgrades include custom engine wrapping, a lighter synthetic teak deck by Flexiteek, and smoked Perspex duckboards enclosing the cabin entrance.

“This project highlights the versatility of the Protector range,” said Andy Andrews, Protector Boats Brand Manager at Ancasta. “Ancasta Yacht Services played a crucial role in achieving a high level of personalisation, ensuring every detail met the owner’s specifications.”
The Protector Targa 380 superyacht tender is aimed at superyacht owners and villa residents seeking a high-performance, multipurpose RIB.
