Press release, August 26th, 2024 – Sanlorenzo will once again participate in the prestigious 2024 Cannes Yachting Festival, taking place from September 10th to 15th in the renowned bay of the French Riviera. To kick off the nautical season in style, the shipyard will unveil two new models from its Yacht Business Unit, marking an evolution of their respective lines: the SL86A for the Asymmetrical line and the SP92 for the Smart Performance line. Alongside these new releases, the Italian nautical maison will also showcase a selection of emblematic models that have defined the brand’s history.
Developed in collaboration with Studio Zuccon, the SL86A represents a new evolution in the application of the asymmetrical concept, maximizing its potential to create innovative and optimized living solutions while maintaining the elegance and captivating style of Sanlorenzo design. Applying the principles of asymmetry to a smaller boat compared to previous models was a complex challenge, but it resulted in an even more distinctive outcome in terms of enhancing both interior and exterior spaces.
Internally, the innovative solution adopted rethinks the use of vertical connections, minimizing their footprint, which allows the entire Main Deck to be dedicated to guest conviviality. This creates a large open space living area with the option for a spacious aft salon and a customizable dining area at the bow. The minimal visual barriers highlight the large asymmetrical window that extends from aft to bow, creating a constant connection with the sea. This connection is fully experienced in the aft area as well: thanks to a minimal yet highly innovative design, the boat navigates without a visible staircase, and the introduction of a transparent element strengthens the connection with the surrounding marine scenery. Overall, the SL86A’s external spaces are enlarged and made more accessible, also thanks to two large sunbathing areas, one at the bow and one integrated into the superstructure.
With the SP92, Sanlorenzo reaffirms its commitment to research in the segment of high-performance, sporty boats, following the SP110. Developed in collaboration with Studio Zuccon for the exterior design and architect Piero Lissoni for the interior design, the SP92 combines the best technologies found in the SP110, meeting the challenge of applying the typical design of the range to a new entry-level model. This design is inspired by minimalism and clean lines, further enhancing the yacht’s sportiness and harmony while maintaining its unparalleled style, elegance, and performance.
The interiors are distributed over four levels, an innovative solution for a boat of this kind, featuring solutions that enhance the spaciousness and livability of the spaces, strengthening the connection with the surrounding marine environment. An example is the large windows that connect the interior with the expansive aft area, which includes a customizable beach area of approximately 45 square meters.
In line with the core concept of the Smart Performance line, the SP92 combines the characteristics of a highly performant yacht with Sanlorenzo’s commitment to sustainability. From the unique hull geometries, which optimize the resistance coefficient at commonly used speeds, to the design of structural elements, the high-efficiency monocrystalline photovoltaic system, and the choice of furnishings made from composite materials and aeronautical technologies, everything has been designed to minimize consumption and reduce environmental impact.
While the SL86A and SP92 represent the new releases Sanlorenzo will present to the Cannes audience, the Italian maison will also bring some of its most iconic yachts to the show:
During the show that inaugurates the nautical season, Sanlorenzo will present the milestones and goals achieved to international press, outlining the strategies that will lead to increasingly sustainable growth. The press conference, titled “Our Road to 2030: The Future of Sustainability in Yachting has Never Been Closer”, will be held on Monday, September 9th, aboard the 50Steel, the world’s first superyacht to feature the Reformer Fuel Cell system powered by green methanol, where guests can experience firsthand the latest innovation and sustainability milestone achieved by the shipyard.
