AI-Powered Safety on Show in Cannes

Sea.AI, a pioneer in maritime vision technology, is unveiling its latest innovation, the Watchkeeper system, at the Cannes Yachting Festival 2025. Chosen for the show’s prestigious “Innovation Route”, Watchkeeper highlights the future of affordable, AI-driven marine safety.

Collision Avoidance Technology

Collisions account for over half of boating accidents resulting in serious injury or death, making preventative technology essential. Watchkeeper uses ultra-wide 4K low-light optics, with options for thermal imaging, to spot hazards beyond the capability of the human eye. By drawing on Sea.AI’s extensive database of millions of marine objects, the system detects and classifies threats ranging from buoys and floating debris to unlit vessels, marine mammals, and even people overboard.

Once identified, risks are automatically assessed, and crews receive real-time alerts on multifunctional displays or mobile devices. This ensures faster, safer responses in scenarios where radar or AIS may not detect danger.

Affordable Range of Models

The entry-level Watchkeeper, available in black or white, provides dawn-to-dusk protection and is priced from €4,990. A mid-range version adds night-vision capability, while the premium model maximises detection range and field of view. The tiered options make advanced collision avoidance more accessible to both sailing and motorboat owners.
