SeaSight Launches with Three-Tier Marine Security System

A new marine security brand, SeaSight, has launched with a suite of products aimed at protecting small to mid-sized leisure vessels from theft and tampering. Developed by tech specialist and boat owner Tony Cantrill, the launch comes just a year after his own Ribeye A683 was stolen from a mooring in St Mawes, Cornwall.

The incident left Cantrill determined to challenge what he sees as a dangerous complacency in the boating community. “Nobody expects their boat to be stolen,” he said, “but it happens”.  He began searching for what was available – and quickly found that there was almost nothing on the market that was built for the realities of the marine environment.

The SeaSight range includes three core self-install products:

Shield: Connected Monitoring

At the heart of the system, Shield is a smart onboard unit offering motion detection, ignition sensing, geofencing, and tamper alerts. Linked to a mobile app, it allows users to trigger alarms or immobilise the boat remotely. Its standout feature is a proprietary mooring sensor—built into a buoy—that detects if a vessel has parted from its mooring, whether through theft or line failure.

Stealth: Covert Tracking

Stealth is a self-powered, hidden tracker that operates independently of the boat’s systems. It transmits secure GPS location data every 24 hours, even during power loss or tampering—ideal for persistent tracking when visibility is lost.

Secure: Physical Deterrent

Secure is a robust padlock and five-metre marine-grade cable, developed with ABUS, offering physical anchoring to docks or fixtures. It requires no connectivity and provides a visible deterrent.

The full range is available now through www.seasight.world and from marine lifestyle retailer Tack & Jibe. Products can be used independently or combined via the SeaSight app for layered protection.
