Shark Launch Moulded Seating
Shark seating have added an injection-moulded plastic seat shell to their suspension seat design. The Jockey package has the base, suspension and seat all made of composite plastic, and designer Paul Zwaan says: ‘The idea is one base model, with a precise design made in high volume; users then add modules if needed.’
The polyethylene base is rotomoulded, with the suspension and seat shell both being injection moulded. The suspension is made of Flexanite, a proprietary plastic composite, with the seat shell being made of black polycarbonate.
With price being a significant barrier for many when considering suspension seating, Shark hope that these plastic moulded seats will make it more accessible.
