Swallow Yachts, well known in the sailing world for their classically styled day boats and yachts, launched their first powerboat at this year’s Southampton Boat Show. The Whisper 300 is built entirely in a tough wood/epoxy/glass combination that keeps her weight down and means she can take full advantage of her twin 70hp Yamaha outboards mounted under a soundproofed box, for a top speed of 26 knots.
This new craft is built unashamedly for the job of socialising with friends and family, and boasts seating for eight in her generous cockpit. An enclosed heads, large V-berth and oak joinery down below make overnighting for two a comfortable reality, while sunbathing space on the foredeck and outboard box extends her appeal in sunny conditions.
