Through-hull or surface-mounted, these compact Garmin marine cameras will take the stress out of berthing.
We look at the Garmin GC 245 and Garmin GC 255 1080p HD marine camera range. These compact all-seeing units are intended to enhance proximity awareness at the dockside. Both cameras feature on-screen distance markers, guidance lines and prompts to guide you during low-speed docking. Both the 245 and the 255 deliver multiple views directly to a compatible Garmin chart plotter, including Standard View, FishEye View and Bird’s Eye View.
Users can see up to four camera feeds simultaneously on their MFDs or share the video across networked displays throughout the vessel. Skippers can also use a digital zoom to take a closer look at a specific area of interest, or pan around the field of view to focus on anything within sight. Built for a wide range of boats, the GC 255 has a stainless steel through-hull design that can be flush-mounted, while the GC 245 has a surface-mount design and is available in black or white options. Both models are IPX7 rated to withstand the marine environment.
Available now, the GC 245 surface-mount marine camera starts at a suggested retail price of £689.99, while the flush-mount GC 255 has a suggested retail price of £1,039.99 (both inc. VAT).
