Lightweight design and versatility

Weighing in at just 55kg without its battery, this electric PWC is the lightest personal watercraft by a wide margin. This makes it hugely versatile, as it can go where other PWC cannot – such as on the roof of your car – and it can be easily launched off the beach, so you are not beholden to slipways. For environmentally conscious users, the near-silence of the Roxen is also a huge advantage. It glides serenely, making it ideal for sensitive natural areas where noise can disturb wildlife and other visitors, and it should not receive the disapproving looks that personal watercraft sometimes get.

Advanced technology and smart features

The technology is quite impressive, as the 5.5kWh battery is water-cooled for durability and efficiency, and it is easily swapped out as and when, which is important given how the Roxen is likely to be used. Charging is via a standard 230V supply and takes just two to three hours, and reportedly uses less than a pound in energy costs. Having 4G/LTE connection, you can send an emergency signal or text to any of your contacts, so if you run out of power, help is at hand. It has a geofencing feature, so if children are using it you can predefine the limit to which it can be driven. Like many modern toys, it has a free app, which, when connected to the watercraft, offers instrumentation, battery status checks, software updates (OTA) and personal configuration options. This app is available for both Android and Windows, with iOS support planned.
