Catamaran builders Cheetah Marine have reported a good year across all boating sectors. The company, based on the Isle of Wight, has a burgeoning order book for 2017 with 23 catamarans already on order, of which seven are currently in build.

In addition to a thriving leisure sector, Cheetah Marine have been awarded contracts for a number of hydrographic and environmental survey catamarans. Four vessels are currently in build that will pursue a range of sampling tasks using various specialised technology. A fifth Cheetah has just been delivered to the Congo. Clients include Cardiff Harbour Authority, Aberystwyth University, Belgian W&Z Surveys and a port authority based in Marseille.

Cheetah Marine will also be manufacturing a custom triple-axle trailer to suit the smaller models for easy launch and recovery at various sites.
