Quarken 35 Cabin Tourer

The star of the show was undoubtedly the new Quarken 35 Cabin Tourer, making its debut in Helsinki. Built on the proven twin-step hull of the T-top model, this version introduces a fully separate aft cabin with its own door, transforming the 35 from a capable day boat into a genuine family cruiser.

Ticking all the Quarken boxes of seaworthiness and high functionality the new model adds next level liveability. A lot of thought has gone into making this a practical family boat – easy-care upholstery, shape-shifting furniture and excellent ambient lighting which would certainly lift the mood on grey northern days. The master cabin has a comfortable couch and table creating a genuinely usable workspace afloat.

At the helm, joystick control, bow thruster and Zipwake are neatly integrated for intuitive handling. This one’s a real winner.

Targa 30.1

If Helsinki has a spiritual centre, it’s the Targa stand. The 30.1 showcased the latest iteration of this much-respected platform, now offered with an outboard bracket and twin Mercury engines. The move to outboards brings gains in fuel efficiency, manoeuvrability and top-end speed, while also freeing up valuable storage space aft.

Deck design remains classic Targa: wide, secure side decks, abundant handholds and intelligent drainage that directs water safely away. The helm is solid and reassuring, with excellent all-round visibility and a layout that feels engineered for control in rough conditions.

As Finnish as they come, these boats are extremely popular across Northern Europe and would sit more than comfortably in the UK market. Build quality is strong with thoughtful details designed with families in mind. Safety is central to the AMT philosophy- high back rests will make fast passages feel secure.  The 210BR continues to build around its “Always to Shore” principle, routing critical systems within a protected inner structure so that even in the unlikely event of hull damage, steering and fuel systems remain safeguarded.

G Force 14

With its military dark grey finish and upright, purposeful profile, this boat brought a more stealthy edge to a hall dominated by polished aluminium and white GRP.

Classed as a 12-metre hull but extended via a bolted-on anchor section to 14 metres overall, it cleverly maximises usable length within its category. Ice-coded and designed for year-round Nordic use, it targets owners who prioritise durability and comfort and who like a look that will stand out in any marina.

The cabin sits on rubber mounts to reduce vibration, and the interior layout is highly adaptable – sofa and table lift clear to open the space, and a convertible berth adds flexibility. A full shower compartment and warm-air windscreen venting reinforce its serious cold-weather credentials.
