Windermere unveils new sustainable GT Mono Light class
Windermere’s third sustainable race day introduced a new national class and underlined growing momentum behind lower-carbon powerboat racing.
Cox Powertrain have announced a new collaboration venture with ignition and safety specialists CoastKey, a brand of Nordic Wireless Solutions, with a view to providing enhanced modular ignition systems and safety solutions. The supplier joins Murphy by Enovation Controls, who will be providing their LCD display screen for Cox’s new diesel outboard engine, the CXO300, which was recently unveiled at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show. Delivering 300hp at the propeller, the engine is based on the proven technology of a 4-stroke V8 architecture and weighs just 375kg.
Cox Powertrain’s global sales director, Joel Reid, said: ‘Fort Lauderdale is the obvious choice for this significant launch. The area is a magnet for recreational boat owners and sports fishermen, and the number of twin, triple and quad outboard-powered boats sold in Florida every month is staggering. Demand from this region has already exceeded our expectations.’
