Fairline unveils new Targa 58 GTO sports cruiser with transformable cockpit

Powerboat & RIB can reveal that Fairline has unveiled the Targa 58 GTO at Cannes Yachting Festival this week. The Targa 58 GTO is the latest and largest model in its Targa sports cruiser range. The 58ft yacht marks an evolution of the Targa series, introducing a new approach to indoor-outdoor living designed to combine the enclosed comfort of a GT with the openness of a traditional sports yacht, according to Fairline.

The defining feature of the Targa 58 GTO is its hydraulic patio door system, which the builder says allows the yacht to transform from an enclosed cruiser into an open-air entertainment space within seconds. The starboard-side glazing and patio doors lower into the engine compartment, while the port-side galley window also drops away, creating a continuous social space that runs from the cockpit through to the helm.

The Targa 58 GTO introduces a revised interpretation of Fairline’s Targa design language, with a higher topside profile, a floating radar arch and more sculpted aft quarters. The main deck features a galley-up arrangement, with extra-large glazing connecting the saloon to the water from wherever guests are seated. The new helm station is equipped with triple Garmin displays and integrated joystick control.

On deck, fold-down side balconies increase the usable cockpit area by more than 40 percent, from 19.2 sq m to 27.2 sq m, while the aft deck accommodates dining for up to eight guests and a large sunpad. Below deck, the Targa 58 GTO offers a three-cabin, two-ensuite layout, comprising a full-beam owner’s cabin amidships, a forward VIP cabin with optional scissor berths, and a twin guest cabin.

Underneath the aft deck, a standing-height garage can store a Williams 325 or 345 tender and a SeaBob, a feature Fairline says is normally found only on larger yachts. With the tender moored out of the way, the Waterside Zone, combined with a hydraulic hi/lo swim platform, creates 9.2 sq m of usable waterside space.

Power options comprise twin Volvo Penta D13-900 engines producing a combined 1,800hp, or twin D13-1000 engines producing 2,000hp, delivering estimated top speeds of up to 32 knots via shaft-drive propulsion.
