The Schaefer V33 – Gibbs Quay Boat Sales in Poole has become the UK’s sole distributor of the Brazilian Schaefer Yachts.

Dorset-based Gibbs Quay Boat Sales has become the UK’s sole distributor of the Brazilian Schaefer Yachts.

The luxury yacht brand is renowned for its eye-catching design, styling, high-performance and sophistication. 

Schaefer Yachts has been in existence for more than 30 years and is the largest yacht manufacturer in South America, with a range of boats from 30ft to 85ft. 

With more than 3,500 vessels built to date, Schaefer is a major brand in South and North America.

Its yachts will now be available from Gibbs, which is located in Poole, the motor boating-Mecca of the UK. 

The business is well over a century old and was originally based on the banks of the River Thames near Shepperton in Middlesex before moving to its current prime site in 2012.

Don Bissessar, who bought the company in 1986, said he had scoured the world looking for a new yacht brand to sell alongside the others it imports and sells.

He said: “Schaefer Yachts really fit in well with us not only because they meet our high standards but because they are an established manufacturer with an impeccable reputation and are distinct from the other brands in the market place.

“Having visited the factory and seeing the build and design process I am totally confident in the brand and the people behind it.

“Schaefer will bring a touch of carnival and a dash of the Copacabana to the UK boating scene.

“With the official launch scheduled for the Southampton boat show in September the whole team are excited to have several Schaefer yachts on display, including the latest model.

“The V33 is a touch of class at just under 34ft with a passenger capacity for ten and generous sleeping accommodation for two. 

“They are stunning-looking yachts with open bows and plenty of room aft with full height headroom in the cabins.

“Alongside the V33, the Schaefer 303 will also be on display. This 32ft sports cruiser is a great family boat with lovely style lines and well-planned accommodation for a family of four.
