Twisted has acquired KS Composites, the Melton Mowbray-based advanced composites specialist, in a move that strengthens its position across the premium automotive and marine sectors.
The acquisition brings carbon fibre engineering and production capability directly into the Twisted group, supporting innovation and securing supply for the next generation of vehicles and marine products. It follows a significant period of change for the Yorkshire company, known for its classic Land Rover Defender restomods. Recent milestones include international expansion, the launch of the T-Bug, entry into the premium marine market, and the creation of a Special Projects division.
KS Composites contributes over 40 years of expertise in high performance composite components. For its existing OEM and specialist clients, operations remain unchanged. All 120 employees stay in post, ensuring continuity and the same level of quality. The business continues to operate independently while benefiting from Twisted’s additional resources and broader strategic opportunities.
As Twisted prepares for global growth, including increased activity in the USA, it requires carbon fibre engineering expertise and production capability that provides a genuine competitive advantage. KS Composites delivers that capability, and I am delighted to play a part in expanding what Twisted can design, build, and deliver.
With KS’s expertise in composites and Twisted’s commitment to creating the best possible vehicles and marine products, we’re accelerating every major project we have in motion. This is an important moment for the future of Twisted and an exciting step forward for both teams. We’re strengthening our British engineering expertise while unlocking the next chapter as a global business.
KS Composites will now support Twisted’s product development and manufacturing operations, contributing to new automotive builds, marine applications, and wider advanced engineering initiatives.
