Princess Yachts reports strong emissions progress

Princess Yachts has reported a 19.78% reduction in total carbon emissions in 2025, marking a notable step in the company’s sustainability programme at its Plymouth facilities.

Detailed in its 2025 Streamlined Energy & Carbon Reporting report, the results reflect a broad effort to reduce the environmental impact of manufacturing operations. The company said the progress was driven by action across energy use, production processesand site infrastructure.

Solar investment drives major savings

A major contributor was renewable electricity generation. Solar installations across two Princess Yachts sites produced more than 2.9 million kWh of renewable electricity during 2025. This helped cut reliance on grid-supplied power and contributed to a 37.52% year-on-year reduction in electricity-related emissions.

The company also reported improvements in other areas. Emissions from natural gas and other fuels fell by 9.12% compared with 2024, while transport emissions were reduced by 45.39%. Overall carbon intensity improved by 5.50%, showing continued progress in reducing emissions relative to business performance.

Broader sustainability measures continue

Alongside solar investment, Princess Yachts said its biomass system delivered around 4.4 million kWh of heat over the same period, helping to reduce traditional heating oil consumption by 48%. The company has also continued installing LED lighting and expanding its submetering programme to identify and reduce wasted energy. Further work includes moving its forklift fleet from diesel to electric.

At Princess Yachts, we are committed to creating a sustainable future for our customers, our people, and our industry. Our 2025 SECR report demonstrates meaningful and measurable progress from a step-change in renewable energy generation to significant reductions in operational emissions. We are committed to embedding sustainability into how every Princess yacht is built, while continuing to invest in innovative solutions that reduce our environmental impact.

Will Green, CEO at Princess Yachts

For 2026, the company plans further solar expansion, biomass enhancements, more submetering and additional LED installations.
