Windermere’s third sustainable race day introduced a new national class and underlined growing momentum behind lower-carbon powerboat racing.
IRON and the Mannerfelt Design Team aim to combine the seaworthiness, soft running and tube fender function of a RIB with the inner deck space offered by GRP sports boats, with a view to producing a new concept in hybrid RIB sports boat design.
The IRON range includes four lengths based on one design, the IRON 647 (6.52m), IRON 707 (7.12m), IRON 767 (7.67m) and IRON 827 (8.32m). Each model is available with either a stealth black, classic white or grey GRP hull.
