What is Dry Stacking?
Dry stacking is a method of boat storage where craft are lifted from the water and placed in purpose-built racks on shore. Instead of being left afloat in a berth or on a trailer, the boat is positioned securely on a cradle or shelf within a tall rack system. When required, the marina team retrieves the boat with a forklift or hoist and launches it directly into the water.
This approach has become increasingly popular for motorboats and RIBs up to around 13 metres in length. It is a system long established in the United States and Mediterranean, and it has grown steadily across the UK over the past two decades.
