Audison marine audio division makes Cannes debut

Elettromedia will make its debut at the Cannes Yachting Festival from 8-13 September at stand PAN 112, where it will introduce a new Audison division dedicated to marine audio systems.

The Italian group says the new division will focus on the design, development and commercialisation of audio solutions engineered specifically for marine use. The launch extends the Audison brand beyond its established automotive audio activities and into the yachting market.

Founded in 1987 in Potenza Picena, Italy, Elettromedia says it now operates in 72 countries through seven international offices. Its business covers research and development, engineering, manufacturing and distribution through the Audison, Hertz and Lavoce brands. According to Elettromedia, more than 80 engineers and researchers work across its development activities.

Thesis marine audio range leads the launch

The main product introduction at Cannes will be Thesis, the flagship range of the new Audison Marine Division. Elettromedia describes Thesis as an integrated marine audio system designed for installation aboard yachts and other boats.

The range includes 7.7-inch and 8.8-inch coaxial speakers, 10-inch and 12-inch subwoofers, DSP amplifiers, digital source units and control interfaces. Integra versions will also be available for installations intended to blend more closely with yacht interiors and architecture.

Elettromedia says the new platform has received Hi-Res Audio certification from the Japan Audio Society. The company also states that Audison is currently the only marine brand offering complete audio systems certified as Hi-Res Audio. The certification covers an extended frequency response of up to 40 kHz, which it describes as one octave beyond the conventional market standard and is intended to support greater detail and a wider perceived soundstage.

Marine durability and installation features

The new Audison marine range uses a double-wave grille designed, according to the company, to disperse sound in open environments while helping to divert water and reduce salt deposits.

Elettromedia also cites proprietary signal-processing technologies and engineering intended for marine conditions. The company claims the platform offers up to 1,000 hours of salt fog resistance and carries IP65 certification for protection against dust and water jets.

The system has been developed for boatbuilders, naval architects and yacht owners, with an emphasis on integrating audio equipment with onboard design.

Elettromedia expands Audison into the marine market

Elettromedia says the Cannes launch forms part of its wider international growth strategy and represents the expansion of Audison technology into the marine sector and will present the new Marine Division and Thesis range at stand PAN 112 during the Cannes Yachting Festival from 8-13 September.
