Axopar completes 38 range with new Cross Top at Cannes Yachting Festival

Axopar has completed its 38 range with the addition of the new 38 Cross Top, a model positioned between the enclosed 38 XC Cross Cabin and the open 38 Sun Top. The Cross Top made its world premiere at the Cannes Yachting Festival, held from 8 to 13 September 2026, where it was shown on Stand 160 in the Power Boat Marina.

With the introduction of the Cross Top, Axopar’s 38 range now spans three variants built on a single platform: the fully enclosed 38 XC Cross Cabin, the open 38 Sun Top, and the 38 Cross Top between them. According to Axopar, the three models are designed to let owners choose the boat that best matches how they spend their time on the water.

All three share the same hull, deck plan, engine options and modular interior, with the main difference between them being their level of enclosure. The fully enclosed 38 XC Cross Cabin suits owners who want full protection from wind, spray and sun on longer passages, while the open 38 Sun Top is built around shorter runs, time at anchor and days centred on sun, swimming and socialising. The 38 Cross Top sits between the two, combining a sheltered helm with an open cockpit for owners who want elements of both in one boat.

The Cross Top’s helm and forward section are sheltered by a forward-tilting wraparound windscreen, designed to reduce wind chill, spray, glare and water-droplet buildup while maintaining visibility. Behind the helm, the cockpit and aft deck remain open, retaining the social feel and close connection to the water associated with the Sun Top. Optional roll-down canopies can be added for extra protection when conditions change, and stowed again when they improve.

All three 38 models are built on the same twin-stepped, 20-degree V hull, with a sharp entry, an overbuilt stringer system and optimized weight distribution, according to Axopar. The Cross Top is available with twin Mercury Verado outboards in V8 300hp or V10 350hp form, taking the boat beyond 45 knots. The company states a cruise fuel consumption of roughly 3.0 litres per nautical mile and a range of approximately 250 nautical miles from the standard 830-litre tank.

Owners can configure the boat across the bow, cockpit, front cabin and aft deck, with a choice of individual helm seats or convertible U-sofas with electric hi-lo tables, a pantry module, and an optional enclosed toilet with shower. Foldable activity platforms at the stern are designed for swimming and watersports. The front cabin sleeps two, with two further berths also available.

The Axopar 38 Cross Top starts at €197,800 (ex VAT) with twin Mercury V8 Verado 300hp engines, or €212,770 (ex VAT) with twin Mercury V10 Verado 350hp engines. Axopar states that prices exclude shipping, handling, commissioning, taxes and other related fees, and that pricing is subject to change without prior notice.
