How did Mercury and Yanmar perform at Southampton?

Barrus has reported a leading position in both the outboard and inboard engine markets at the Southampton International Boat Show, with its distributed brands Mercury and Yanmar topping their respective categories.

According to the company, Mercury powered more than half of all engines displayed across the show’s main open display areas, giving it a 54% market share. Yanmar, also distributed by Barrus, was the most widely used inboard engine brand, accounting for 40.5% of engines installed in boats on display. The results meant it represented the leading brand in both the outboard and inboard engine sectors at the show.

We were proud to be the market leader in the UK for both the outboard and inboard engine markets.

The Southampton Boat Show gives a clear indication of the preferred engine choice of boat builders, dealers and end users. Seeing Mercury and Yanmar in leading positions reflects the quality of the products, the strength of our dealer network and the industry-leading support provided by the Barrus team.

Most importantly, however, it reflects the trust our customers place in us. We want to thank our dealers, boat builders and customers for their continued support.
