The 2025 Circuit Powerboat Association British Championship begins this Bank Holiday weekend at Nicholas Everitt Park, Oulton Broad. Taking place on Sunday 4 and Monday 5 May, the event marks the opening round of the national circuit racing calendar.
Hosted by the Lowestoft & Oulton Broad Motor Boat Club (LOBMBC), the championship opener will feature competitive racing across several classes, with drivers aiming to secure early points in their pursuit of national titles.
Racing starts at 12 noon on both days, with participants tackling a challenging course on the inland waters of Oulton Broad. Competitors from across the UK will join local entrants in a series of timed heats, with each class fighting for position and momentum going into the season.
Club commodore Peter Mantripp said: “We look forward to welcoming all the visiting competitors to the opening round of the 2025 Circuit Powerboat Association British Championship and hope to get the Championship off to a fantastic start.”
The club’s fleet of experienced local racers is expected to perform well, benefiting from familiarity with the venue’s unique conditions. Oulton Broad, known for its testing bends and variable water state, provides an ideal stage for powerboat racing, combining technical driving with high-speed straights.
Spectators are encouraged to attend the free-to-watch event, with viewing available from the park’s perimeter and dedicated spectator areas. The event is suitable for families and enthusiasts alike, offering a mix of motorsport action and community atmosphere.
