New six-metre aluminium centre console boat announced

Buster is expanding its centre console boat range with the new Buster XL CC, a six-metre aluminium boat positioned above the existing Buster Scc and Buster Mcc models.

The new model is designed for use in archipelago and large lake environments, with Buster describing it as suitable for professional use, cargo transport, fishing, commuting and family day trips. A larger Buster XXL CC is also planned.

Demand for centre console boats has clearly increased, which is why we are rapidly expanding the range into larger boat models. The Buster Mcc, launched last year and already proving highly popular, is now joined by the larger Buster XL CC, with the next-size-up Buster XXL CC to follow later.

Buster XL CC layout and capacity

The Buster XL CC measures 6.05 metres in length and 2.2 metres in beam. It has a maximum engine power rating of 115 hp, seating for up to six people and a maximum load capacity of 700 kg.

The forthcoming Buster XXL CC will increase maximum engine power to 150 hp, while load capacity will rise to nearly 800 kg, according to Buster.

The XL CC features an all-aluminium centre console, two separate offshore seats, a wide aft bench and an optional bench/storage box positioned in front of the console. For the larger XXL CC, additional seat boxes will be available to extend the aft bench into a U-shaped sofa.

Side doors and a sprayhood will also be offered for those requiring additional shelter. The boat has walkways on both sides of the console, while the bow provides a large flat area for cargo or for two anglers casting side by side.

The new centre console versions are multi-purpose boats in which particular attention has been paid to ergonomics and driving comfort. Especially practical are the large, flat aft swim platforms, which make boarding easier both from the water and from the dock, while also providing working space, for example when fishing.

Smart display and fishing equipment options

Standard equipment on the Buster XL CC includes a 10” Buster Q smart display and Navionics digital charts. A 12” display is available as an option.

Buster says the console also has space for an additional display without obstructing forward visibility. Buster brand ambassador and fishing guide Jani Ollikainen says the large console and open deck make the boat suitable for casting.

The console is large enough to provide excellent wind protection for the driver and allows several fish finders or chart plotters to be installed side by side if needed.

Fuel economy and performance figures

Buster says the XL CC’s hull has been designed with fuel efficiency in mind. The company states that the boat uses 0.7 litres per nautical mile at a cruising speed of 19-23 knots.

The boat is fitted with a 160-litre fuel tank. According to Buster, top speed is around 36 knots, with fuel consumption at 1.1 litres per nautical mile at that speed.

Buster centre console model history

Buster says its aluminium boat range has included centre console models since the 1980s. The first was the Big Buster CC Fish, which the company describes as roughly comparable in size to today’s M models.

The current range includes the 4.43-metre Buster Scc, fitted with a slim centre console and a 30 hp Yamaha outboard, and the 4.86-metre Buster Mcc, based on the Buster M model. The M model is also available in single- and twin-console versions.

The Buster Mcc has a maximum engine power of 40 hp and a claimed top speed of approximately 27 knots. Buster states that fuel consumption remains at 0.5 litres per nautical mile in its most efficient cruising range of 15-22 knots.

bof the new Buster XL CC is due to begin in October 2026, with prices to be announced in September. The Buster S cc and Buster M cc are already in production and continuously available.
