Adventure watch brand Elliot Brown have announced that two new special-edition watches designed to honour the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) will be available later this year.
Co-founder Ian Elliot owes much to the RNLI and commented:‘I was saved by the RNLI back in the 80s after getting into trouble windsurfing. I have been indebted to the charity ever since and we are incredibly proud to honour that feeling by creating two watches that will help to raise funds for the lifesaving charity.’
The special-edition RNLI Canford and Kimmeridge watches will be available from Elliot Brown stockists and online for £365 this autumn, with Elliot Brown paying £35 in support of the RNLI.
The watch face is influenced by the iconic lifeboat colours along with subtle white and blue hour markers referencing the boathooks carried by every lifeboat since the beginning of the service. The historical significance continues on the case back where special permission was granted to feature the original RNLI anchor with the fitting words of Sir William Hillary: ‘With courage nothing is impossible.’
