Evinrude have received the 2018 Red Dot Award for Product Design for their E-Tec G2 150–200 hp outboard engines.
Tracy Crocker, president of the BRP Marine Group, said: ‘Evinrude’s history has always included pushing the envelope to accentuate new engine technology. We strive to continually improve our engines to drive the industry forward and add to our customers’ overall experience.’
A panel of roughly 40 experts evaluated each product’s level of innovation, functionality, formal quality, ergonomics and durability before concluding which concept merited the distinction. The Red Dot jury’s statement on their selection of the Evinrude E-Tec G2 notes the ‘distinctive appearance enabling personalisation, which characterises this outboard motor platform. It also convinces with a combination of powerful motor and environmentally friendly combustion technology.’
