Forte Yachts will unveil the all-aluminium Forte 47 Gran Turismo at Cannes, with claimed 47-knot performance and configurable interior and propulsion options.

All-aluminium sport yacht heads to Cannes

Forte Yachts will make its market debut at the Cannes Yachting Festival with the Forte 47 Gran Turismo, following completion of the yacht’s sea trial programme. The model has been developed for the luxury sport yacht market, with an emphasis on performance, outdoor living space and owner customisation.

The company says the yacht reached 47 knots during trials off Ameglia, Italy. The Gran Turismo version uses three 600hp Mercury Verado V12 outboards, with naval architecture and engineering by Umberto Tagliavini.

Fold-down terraces expand the cockpit

Designed by Paolo Giordano, the Forte 47 GT features drop-down side wings that expand the cockpit into a claimed 40m² outdoor platform. The layout opens the helm seating, aft lounge and port-side bar area to the water, while the hardtop provides shelter.

An electric passerelle is concealed in the transom and can form steps into the water or provide dock access. The wings can also serve as bathing platforms. Other features include a retractable television, concealed speakers, a refrigerator and an ice maker.

Acceleration is breathtaking and the ride is both stable and responsive in a wide range of sea conditions. Flexible layouts and propulsion choices

The proposed standard layout includes a master cabin with separate shower and heads, plus a guest cabin with a double and single berth, day head and shower. Forte Yachts says the aluminium structure enables alternative interior arrangements. Genesis is building and installing the interior.

A Lounge Deck version will use Volvo Penta IPS inboard propulsion, with a stated top speed of 37 knots. Forte also plans an enclosed-cockpit version with side windows, aft doors and heating for colder cruising areas.
