Nordkapp has introduced the Airborne 5.4, the latest addition to its Airborne RIB line-up and a new compact model aimed at delivering practical versatility alongside performance-led handling.
At 5.44m in length and 2.4m in beam, the Airborne 5.4 has been designed to make the most of its footprint. Nordkapp says the model uses a straight bow design to extend the waterline, helping it behave like a larger boat while keeping the overall package compact. The boat can carry up to six people, has a 100-litre fuel tank and is rated for outboards up to 115hp.
Espen Thorup, Nordkapp’s house designer, has created an exciting new addition to the Airborne series, with a strong focus on maximizing every inch of the boat for practical use.
This flexibility makes the 5.4 well-suited for both Scandinavian and international markets.
Nordkapp is offering customisation in both the bow and aft sections, along with two console seating arrangements. Buyers can choose between a twin chair styled set-up for side support and comfort, or a bolster arrangement for a more active driving position. The company also highlights high storage volume and a layout intended to keep both passengers secure and gear dry and organised.
On the driving characteristics of the Airborne 5.4, Thorup says:
“When you take the helm, you should feel that this is a serious performance RIB. The driving position is secure, the ergonomics support you properly at speed, and the boat responds in a way that feels controlled. That confidence is important.”
