Palm Beach GT50 RS pairs speed with refined comfort

Palm Beach Motor Yachts has revealed the new GT50 RS, an outboard-powered performance yacht designed to combine speed, comfort and refined onboard craftsmanship.

The first Palm Beach GT50 RS is powered by quad Mercury 500R V8 outboards, producing a combined 2,000 horsepower. According to the company, this gives the yacht a top speed of 50 knots while retaining the quiet ride, composure and comfort associated with Palm Beach Motor Yachts.

The GT50 RS was developed in response to client demand, with hull number one created for an experienced yachtsman seeking a fast coastal commuter and cruising yacht. It will be used between Connecticut and Long Island, where its blend of performance and protection is intended to make demanding passages more enjoyable, even in challenging conditions.

Large opening windows and a sunroof give the helm and saloon an open-air, sports car-like feel. When required, the helm and saloon can be enclosed to provide quiet, air-conditioned comfort.

Palm Beach has also focused on life aboard. The cockpit, saloon, galley and forward cabin are arranged to create a seamless flow for entertaining and socialising. The interior uses carbon fibre accents, Alcantara fabric finishes and precision-crafted detailing, balanced by high-gloss teak joinery and handcrafted finish work.

Forward accommodation includes a cabin with a king-size bed, offering a level of comfort not often associated with high-performance outboard yachts.

The GT50 RS uses Palm Beach Motor Yachts’ proprietary V-Warp Technology®. Its lightweight carbon fibre, E-glass and vinylester construction, combined with infused monocoque engineering, is designed to provide rigidity, lightness and stability at sustained high speed.
