Taking place from August 19th to August 25th, Portland Week promises an immersive experience into Portland’s lively maritime culture, offering a week of fun and frolics ashore and afloat, while highlighting the importance of protecting our marine ecosystems.

This Summer Portland Marina will be transformed into a lively hub of excitement and discovery offering fun for all the family! Visitors will have the chance to dive into daily beach clean-ups, participate in hands-on creative workshops, enjoy whimsical encounters with mermaids and pirates, explore the cutting-edge boatcare eco centre and much more!
The week will culminate in the spectacular Pirates vs. Mermaids floating pantomime, before it seamlessly melds into the boatfolk Big Weekend featuring a dynamic blend of live music, quirky races, the vibrant Portland Paddle Parade, and opportunities to set sail with #boatgen.

Sponsored by Pantaenius Insurance and Sippi, which is part of the Agena Group, this year’s Portland Week will be raising funds and awareness for ‘Clean Jurassic Coast’ and shining a spotlight on the remarkable potential of seaweed. Often dismissed as mere beach debris, seaweed is a true marine powerhouse, capable of capturing carbon, purifying our seas, and offering innovative solutions to plastic pollution and food shortages. Through engaging activities and interactive exhibits, visitors of all ages will discover how this extraordinary plant is making waves in the world of sustainability.

“We’re beyond excited to bring Portland Week back for another year of celebration and education,” said Bee Woodland, Customer Experience Officer at Portland Marina. “This year, we’re blending exhilarating fun with a meaningful message about environmental responsibility which is so important to us. Our goal is to deliver a memorable experience while raising awareness and funds for Clean Jurassic Coast and promoting our role in preserving the natural world.”
