SBS Trailers are unveiling electric boat launcher at Seawork

SBS Trailers is set to showcase the C-ROVR electric boat launching system at Seawork 2026 in Southampton, taking place from 9-11 June.

The British boat trailer manufacturer will exhibit the system on stand Q34 as the first authorised Tectrax partner outside New Zealand. Visitors will be able to see the C-ROVR up close and learn more about how it has been developed to simplify the launch and retrieval of boats.

Developed over more than a decade, the C-ROVR is described as the world’s first fully electric, remote-controlled boat launching system. It uses wireless technology to allow vessels to be launched and retrieved from either onboard or onshore.

The system is operated by wireless remote control, with a range of up to 500 metres in line of sight. It has been designed to accommodate boats from 4m to more than 10m and loads exceeding 7,000kg, with each unit custom-built to suit specific operational requirements.

By removing the need for a tow vehicle, the C-ROVR offers an independent approach to boat launching. It is intended to provide some of the freedom and convenience associated with amphibious craft, without requiring costly vessel modifications or investment in a new boat.

Designed specifically for use in the water, the C-ROVR is fully submersible and engineered for demanding marine environments. Each wheel hub is triple sealed and fitted with built-in moisture sensors to help maintain waterproof integrity and support consistent performance.
