Tectrax technology to feature on SBS Trailers stand

SBS Trailers will showcase the C-ROVR electric boat launch system at Seawork 2026 in Southampton, where visitors will be able to see the system on stand Q34 from 9 to 11 June.

The company has been appointed as the first authorised partner of Tectrax outside New Zealand and will present the C-ROVR to the UK commercial marine sector.

According to the companies, the C-ROVR has been developed over more than a decade and is described as the world’s first fully electric, remote-controlled boat launching system.

Electric boat launch system for marine operators

The C-ROVR is designed to help owners and operators launch and retrieve vessels without the need for a tow vehicle. SBS Trailers says the system provides some of the convenience associated with amphibious vessels, without requiring costly modifications or investment in a new craft.

The system is operated by wireless remote control, with a stated range of up to 500 metres line of sight. This allows the user to launch or retrieve a vessel from onboard or onshore.

Each C-ROVR is custom-built to suit specific operational requirements. It is designed to accommodate boats from 4m to more than 10m and loads exceeding 7,000kg.

Remote-controlled launch and retrieval

SBS Trailers says the C-ROVR has been designed specifically for use in the water and built to perform in tough marine conditions.

The system is described by the company as robust, fully submersible and engineered for long-term reliability. Each wheel hub is triple sealed and fitted with built-in moisture sensors, which SBS Trailers says are intended to help maintain waterproof integrity and consistent performance.

The company says this allows the system to support launches in deeper water and controlled retrievals.
