Silwood Marine have been appointed as the UK distributor for the US-manufactured, HDPE marine-grade polymer sheeting product range, King StarBoard. Used in the process of boatbuilding, its makers state that HDPE is superior in terms of its flatness and its environmental stability for withstanding the harshest marine conditions. The product apparently will not rot or delaminate when exposed to humidity, moisture or salt water, is easy to fabricate with standard woodworking tools and requires little or no finishing.
As UK distributor, Silwood Marine offer full sheets cut to size as well as machined parts, all via computer-aided design machining capabilities. Anti-skid sheeting with diamond patterned surfacing is also available.
