With the knowledge gained from building the Supermarine Swordfish 36, and being in the fortunate position to acquire the last remaining original Fairey Marine ‘Spearfish’ moulds, Supermarine have announced their new Spearfish 32.
Utilising the original ‘all-weather’ hull design, previously used in both leisure and military applications worldwide, Supermarine’s in-house design team have created a new ‘Swordfish’-style deck, using the latest 3D design technologies. Yacht designer Stephen Jones has been commissioned to work alongside the Supermarine team to develop the new Spearfish 32. This new model will embrace classic features and aim to capture the seakeeping qualities of the original Fairey design, combined with the exterior styling of the Supermarine Swordfish 36.
Features include a high windscreen with a stainless steel wrap-around handrail, a cockpit tent and bimini top, and a generous helm with racing-style ‘drop-down’ bolster, while the ‘electronic’ dashboard is ergonomically designed to incorporate large-format double touch screens, helm controls, switches, cup holders and storage trays.
