Windy SR40 made its UK debut at Southampton boat show

Saltwater Solutions, the sole UK distributor for Windy Boats, presented the UK debut of the new Windy SR40 at Southampton International Boat Show. The event gave UK visitors the opportunity to see the latest model from the Scandinavian boatbuilder in person.

Saltwater Solutions describes the SR40 as the newest addition to the Windy range, combining the brand’s Scandinavian craftsmanship with strong performance, comfortable accommodation and contemporary design. The company says the model is aimed at owners seeking premium quality, considered design and engaging handling.

According to Saltwater Solutions, the SR40’s design is rooted in Windy’s traditional values: no-nonsense, high-quality performance boats with a practical layout and efficient, seaworthy hulls. While it is an entirely new design, the company says it carries forward the core values the Windy name has stood for.

The SR40 is intended for entertaining, weekend trips and days on the water, with living spaces and a deck layout that Saltwater Solutions says draw on the seakeeping qualities that have defined the Windy name for over 50 years.

The cockpit has been designed with both the helmsman and passengers in mind, Saltwater Solutions says, with the ergonomics associated with Windy’s helm stations retained and further refined. Large sliding side doors are fitted to give the driver and guests greater protection from the elements whenever needed.

Visitors to the Windy stand at Southampton International Boat Show were able to step aboard the SR40, view its features, and speak to the team about specification, ownership and the wider Windy range.
