SEABOB Wildlife Diving
PBR embarks on an underwater adventure with the fastest water sled in the world.
CAYAGO AG are a German-based company founded in 2007 that specializes in producing exclusive water sports vehicles – or ‘sea toys’ as they are fondly described. One such sea toy is the SEABOB, which is produced at the company’s manufacturing facility in Bad Salzuflen near Stuttgart. The SEABOB is a high-performance, environmentally friendly watercraft – or ‘diving scooter’ – powered by modern electrotechnology, and CAYAGO tell us that it is the fastest water sled in the world.
In cooperation with Stuart Cove of Dive Bahamas, the company has also introduced an intriguing adventure in the Bahamas – shark diving with the SEABOB. Already a fascinating and adrenalin-filled form of diving, with the SEABOB it becomes a quite extraordinary experience. While the sharks circle around majestically, the power and thrust of the diving scooter are strong enough to match their speed in their natural habitat. The virtually noiseless engine doesn’t disturb the silence underwater or scare the curious sharks in any way. Diver and shark move with equal agility and elegance, blending into one spine-tingling and unique underwater universe. No longer merely observing from the outside, goosebumps are guaranteed!
Stuart Cove appreciates the advantages of diving with the SEABOB: ‘The SEABOB blends perfectly into the underwater world and it appears that underwater wildlife in general is not irritated by it. I’m very happy about the cooperation with CAYAGO AG and am convinced that divers worldwide will quickly become enthusiastic about the SEABOB as a modern underwater vehicle,’ he enthuses.
The SEABOB was designed using modern lightweight construction standards and is equipped with a highly efficient electric engine. On and under the water, it scores highly in the maneuverability and performance power stakes. Its components are made of carbon, high-quality ceramic coatings, and its low weight is largely due to the saltwater-resistant special metals employed. The E-Jet Power System fitted allows the pilot to glide almost silently and environmentally sustainably at speeds of up to 20km/h underwater, and to depths of up to 40 metres, and the SEABOB can be steered with one hand, so operating diving equipment and performing safety stops presents no difficulties. Thanks to the integrated TFT colour display, the diver can see the current diving depth and water temperature at eye level.
For lovers of the beauty and adventure afforded by the subaquatic mysteries of the world’s oceans, the SEABOB clearly provides an opportunity to experience something completely different and unforgettable. So if a trip to Bermuda is on the cards, why hesitate?
