Plymouth Boat Fest takes place on Saturday 21st June at Plymouth Yacht Haven. This is a free event celebrating the city’s maritime heritage with activities for boating enthusiasts, families, and those interested in life on the water.
Organiser Steve Cox, Manager of Plymouth Yacht Haven, highlighted the event’s aim to showcase the region’s maritime industry, stating, “The Westcountry has a strong maritime heritage but no dedicated regional show. We want to create a festival that blends community engagement with a showcase of maritime businesses.”
Visitors can explore a range of vessels, from historic ships to modern designs. Demonstrations will include state-of-the-art autonomous and remotely operated boats alongside classic vessels. The event also provides opportunities for those exploring careers in the maritime sector to connect with industry professionals.
Exhibitors include leading boat brokers such as Ancasta International Boat Sales, Princess Motor Yacht Sales (Argo Yachting), Red Ensign Yachts, and Clipper Marine, alongside marine service providers. Classic boats on display include the 1907 vessel Irene and The Island Trust’s fleet.
Marine technology companies Fugro and Boskalis will showcase innovations, while Plymouth RNLI Lifeboat and Ocean Conservation Trust will promote water safety and marine conservation.
