Despite its advanced technology, combining AIS (Automatic Identification System) and DSC (Digital Selective Calling) technology, the rescueME MOB2 raises the bar for MOB safety and is the smallest, most compact Class-M approved MOB device on the market.
Built to meet the latest European regulation (ECC/DEC/(22)02), the MOB2 is equipped with two-way DSC signalling, and real-time AIS location tracking for rapid alerts. Sending the first alert within just 15 seconds, the MOB2 provides fast and efficient communication with exceptional reliability and performance in man overboard emergencies, all at a fraction of the size of other devices being marketed.
“The evolution of the rescueME MOB2 has been designed with the modern seafarer in mind – compact, easy to use, and more powerful,” said Mikele D’Arcangelo, Vice President of Global Marketing and Product Management. “With Class-M approval, we are committed to staying at the forefront of marine safety, responding to the growing demands for more effective solutions and delivering advanced products that comply with stringent international regulations.”
Building on its predecessor’s success, the MOB1, the rescueME MOB2 has been engineered to offer greater performance whilst keeping the renowned lightweight, compact form of the MOB1. Coming in 50% smaller and 20% lighter than other devices on the market, it is easy to install into lifejackets and to activate, both manually and automatically upon lifejacket inflation.
In addition to providing that rapid line of communication, the MOB2 combines dual infrared (IR) and white strobe lights to maximise visibility in low-light conditions, aiding rescuers in final pinpointing of survivors in distress. This visual indication of distress provides another layer of safety and reassurance for survivors.
Ocean Signal has also integrated Near Field Communication (NFC) technology into the MOB2 device, providing users with a better, more convenient way of programming the MOB2 with a vessels MMSI and accessing data from the Ocean Signal mobile device app.
METSTRADE 2024 visitors will have the opportunity to see the rescueME MOB2 at Ocean Signal’s stand (03.432) and receive in-depth product demonstrations from Ocean Signal’s experts.
